The project

In one of Berlin's most sought-after locations, directly on the banks of the Spree and with a unique view of the Schlosspark, stands a residential building whose history goes far back into the city's past. The former architectural jewel was in urgent need of renovation and was waiting for well-thought-out planning and sensitive implementation.

The challenge in the renovation is to respect the regulations of the local authorities, especially the monument protection authority, and at the same time to meet the requirements of a home worth living in. KCM entrusted its partner company IMCON with the task of creating a building that reflects the identity of the environment while meeting today's standards and meeting the housing needs of a wide range of lifestyles.

The result is a building that preserves its historic character and offers residents a contemporary sense of living. The front façade was renovated and the technology was partially renewed. Additional expansion potential is tapped by the conversion of the attic, which was excellently worked out by the architect’s office Larsson. The renovation of the interiors in the existing building is deliberately intended to preserve the charm of an old building. Thanks to the use of suitable materials and great attention to detail, the building will soon shine in new splendor, thus contributing to the protection and revival of the city's culture and history.
